Mercy has done an excellent job in helping Epworth to transform into a Trauma-informed Organisation. She has helped to upskill both clinical and non-clinical staff through her practical experiences. Her ongoing support, consultation and in-depth analysis helped to refine the work, which ultimately benefits the community at large.

In the few consultation sessions that we had with the Consultant, she took effort to understand our concerns, and generously provided a wide range of resources from both local and international communities. She is generous in sharing her knowledge and experiences to allow us to gain a better appreciation of the relevance of trauma-informed principles in our work. Her positive disposition certainly contributed to a warm and safe environment for conversations and deep sharing.

Although this is a heavy topic, Mercy is able to help us understand it so well through her well organised session. Appreciate it!
Being more informed will help me in my work with young children who may not yet be able to express or make sense of what they have been through.

I’m so grateful for the kindness, support and amazing results we have seen since my 6 years old boy began therapy with Nurture Growth Nurture Relationships. It saddened me when I noticed how my child struggled with his social interaction with other children. He was anxious about starting Primary One and was lacking in self- confidence. We knew that it was important to get help for our child. With the parenting coaching and help given to us as parents, we are very happy to see the improvement we have made so far. I would like to express my gratitude towards the counselling service provided that helped my daughter to recover from the trauma of sexual abuse; and to support her through the court hearing process. Having someone familiar with the process and system helped ease my worries. The support also helped to lighten our experience as a family. The counsellor went the extra mile not just to support my daughter who was called as witness in the court hearing, but also made an effort to attend and support my other children. It gave my husband and I the assurance that the children are in good hands

The therapist has made the therapeutic environment safe and comfortable for me. I can share without feeling worried of being judged. The sessions have enhanced my understanding towards myself and the relationships around me. The therapist is always considerate with the pacing and gave me autonomy to decide what I want to talk about to resolve and grow. The therapist also tried to accommodate to my timing as a working individual. I appreciate my supervision session with the Supervisor who was able to create a safe space to explore my challenges both as a supervisor and caseworker. The Supervisor was able to be empathetic towards my unique situation and I felt heard and understood. I also appreciate that she cared about my personhood.

The supervisor has helped me to develop personally and professionally. She creates a safe and secure platform for me to reflect on my work and be aware of myself. She is generous in affirming my work and gave me a lot of assurance. In the last 6 months of supervision with her, I have seen myself grow in my confidence as a Supervisor and have greater understanding of myself as a person and as a professional.

Mercy was my clinical supervisor for Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She demonstrated high levels of knowledge and openness during monthly group supervision sessions and was always affirming and supportive in my learning journey. Mercy is excellent in encouraging creativity while keeping to treatment fidelity. I appreciate her clear and useful feedback that has helped to equip me with intervention skills that enhanced my work.

Mercy has been providing group supervision for our team that does community child protection work. Her sessions enable us to put down time to reflect on our cases. She also helps us to think about our clients and ourselves as workers from the trauma sensitive lens. She is very energetic in her sessions and uplifting as a result. She is able to connect theoretical knowledge to practice and encourages us to do the same. We appreciate sessions with Mercy and the wealth of materials that she also shares with us.

Coaching by Mercy for supervision practice was a valuable and significant part of my growth as a budding supervisor. Mercy provided a supportive and validating space, and helped me to appreciate and apply trauma- informed principles and other supervision concepts in my practice. I grew much in my confidence to facilitate supervision too!

I have learnt to be more mindful of the presence of trauma and avoid re-traumatisation.
The information taught is helpful when counselling youths, especially when they have unidentified trauma.
It is important to apply principles learnt to help clients feel safe as they build trust with the case worker.

Ms Mercy was my trainer in TF-CBT and I’ve continued to train with her for a year of monthly supervision. Mercy had paced me well and gradually built up my sense of competency with her gentle guidance and affirmations stage by stage. She provided a safe environment for me to make mistakes and learn from it, and I was able to put what I learnt in theory into my clinical practice. It’s been a journey and I’m thankful to have Ms Mercy help shape me into a more competent clinician.

The workshop offers useful frameworks to look at cross cultural marriages and relationships. Hofstede's cultural dimension and LOVE framework provides a practical and accessible guide for cross cultural situations. The workshop is directly relevant and timely for me.

The trauma informed workshop was very useful for us to understand the subject of trauma since it is not easy to have resources in this area. The session was engaging and we had fun. We learnt a lot about trauma.

Let's Connect training conducted by developers Dr Monica Fitzgerald and Dr Marcela Torres is helpful for parents to know how to communicate with their children, while being aware of their own well-being. It also includes as one of its topics on child trauma, which is crucial information in parenting children with traumatic experiences.

It has been a fruitful, memorable and enjoyable experience attending TF-CBT training and group supervisions with Mercy. TF-CBT modality is totally new to me and the teachings have been very helpful in my work with children and youth in the residential care setting. The regular supervision sessions allow us to have in-depth discussions about specific challenges and scenarios in our work. Mercy is warm, experienced and generous in sharing her knowledge with us every session. It has been a pleasure having her as a trainer and supervisor.
