A HALF DAY IN-PERSON (SINGAPORE) TRAINING WORKSHOP

What is the purpose of the event?
The purpose of the training is to help participants evaluate their current approach in social work practice from a systems-thinking perspective. This training covers pertinent topics to support participants adopt a more strategic approach in working around systems than the current trend to adopt a more opportunistic approach due to funding needs and requirements.

The course aims to help participants understand the cost behind an opportunistic approach and appreciate how a strategic approach can be more cost effective.

Application Based Training: It takes a practical look at current systems challenges and aims to help participants adopt applicable ways to navigate through the systems to achieve its’ organizational mission and purpose and larger good in the community.

TRAINER INFO
Jai is a social worker and a social change consultant with a specialization in organization development and a certified FIRO-B practitioner. He is a fervent game changer and trailblazer experienced in conceptualizing and implementing national change initiatives in Singapore.

He has represented Singapore at several United Nations and ASEAN forums. Heis well-regarded to be a catalyst for change and challenging the status quo. He has 20 years of strategic top-level experience as a senior civil servant advancing policies and services for people with disabilities, youth at risk, children and families in need. He has carried out large scale communication and engagement efforts for social and educational challenges.

He is an adjunct faculty at the Singapore University of Social Sciences teaching Social Policy Analysis and Development and an associate faculty with the Singapore Institute of Management Centre for Systems Leadership. His teaching ratings are consistently high (above 4.5 out of 5) and was awarded the highest Teaching Excellence Award in 2019.

• Master of Social Work (US)
• Graduate Diploma in Leading and Sustaining Change (Singapore)
