This workshop aims to develop professionals in the helping sector understand the challenges in cross-cultural marriages and how to better support their clients when they face those challenges. It provides the learner a good understanding of what cross-culture means and helps in developing ideas of assisting couples in cross-cultural marriages.
Falling in love is a beautiful experience for many of us; choosing to get married is a step of faith. However, we often take for granted that living together as a couple does need more than the fuzzy feeling when in love. What can be some additional issues two people from different cultures may face in a marriage union?
Hear from our trainer Choi Foong- Sutrisno who is Cross Cultural Educator and PHD student in New Zealand, who has first-hand experience in cross cultural marriage. She is a Chinese happily married to an Indonesian with two lovely teenagers. Choi Foong also has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the subject of cultural competency.
