NGNR Device Free Campaign Winning Story

Embracing the Offline Lifestyle:

It was a challenge for our son, who has muscular dystrophy, to sit at the lunch table without electronic devices. However, our daughter found it effortless. To prevent him from getting bored, he would use his mobile phone. Then, unexpectedly, our daughter challenged him to see who could finish their food first. As he began eating, our daughter took occasional breaks, walking around and resuming her meal. She repeated this pattern throughout.

Due to our son’s illness, it’s not easy for us to keep him away from devices. Nevertheless, we made an effort and succeeded. We realized that simply sitting and hoping for spontaneous conversation wouldn’t work. So, each night, we initiated a question that everyone took turns answering. We also shared jokes and stories in rotation. We even played games, anything to keep the kids engaged. Our home became device-free, and it became our real-life experience.

When we spent a day without devices, we discovered that it brought us more happiness, improved our health, and strengthened our bond as a family and with our loved ones. We successfully survived without relying on any devices.
